Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion GRoup at “APAS 2016” Fair

APAS 2016 Fair held between 2-5 May 2016 at Expo Center Norte in Sao Paulo city of Brazil was attended by 678 firms from particularly Turkey, Brazil, Italy, Argentina, Chile, Spain, USA, Portugal, England, Costa Rica, Norway, Thailand, South Korea, Paraguay, Dominic Republic and Lithuania.

The Organization for Turkey’s National Participation in the fair held for 32nd time this year was realized by Selten Uluslararası Fuar ve Aksesuarları Tic. Ltd. Şti. with participation of 25 firms.

With 206 million population, consumption potential and habits, Brazil is an important market for the exporters looking for alternative foreign markets.

Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group (TFYI) promoted particularly flour, yeast, starch and other export products included in its field of activity, as well as Turkey’s potential at the fair in which it participated for the first time.

The fair was attended by Mr. İbrahim GÜZEL, Member of Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group, Mr. Abdullah KARA, Director of Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters' Association, Prof. Dr. Hamit KÖKSEL, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sertaç ÖZER, who provide consulting services to TFYI, and Mr. Güven BORÇA, TFYI brand consultant, and our info stand was visited by Mr. Mehmet Özgün ARMAN, Consul General to Sao Paulo, and Mr. Caner SANNAV, Commercial Counsellor to Sao Paulo, on the first day of the fair.

Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group met concurrently with the authorized officials of FIESP (Federation of the Industries of the State of Sao Paulo), ABIMAPI (Brazilian Manufacturers Association of Biscuits, Pasta and Industrialized Breads & Cakes) and with major importers of the sector, holding negotiations for developing commercial relations between the two countries in connection with the sector.

Furthermore, meetings and bakery, factory visits were realized in connection with the activities being carried out with SENAI "Horácio Augusto da Silveira" School under the cooperation between TFYI and FIESP.

Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group furnished visitors with cookbooks in Portuguese and English, containing recipes of sweet and salty bakery products and catalogues introducing the sector. In addition, kitchen aprons, bags and baker’s sets carrying the name and logo of the Promotion Group were distributed. The shows performed by the sand animation artist Mr. Veysel Çelikdemir using flour and sand attracted great interest from the visitors.

At TFYI stand, Chef Cook Emin Aydemir prepared and served Turkish bakery products such as “kurabiye”, “börek”, “poğaça”, etc. to the visitors, showing off his art.
