Five hundred firms from 32 countries participated in Sial Brazil 2013- International Hotel, Restaurant Equipment, Ice-Cream Technologies and Food-Beverage Exhibition held for the 29th time between 25-28 June 2013 at Expo Center Notre in Sao Paulo city of Brazil, concurrently with Fispal Food Service exhibition. Turkey’s National Participation Organization was realized by TÜYAP with participation of 13 firms.
The exhibition is of the nature of continuation of Sial’s 11 successful exhibitions in Argentina, and is the biggest food-concept organization of Latin America. Having a population of 203 million, consumption potential and rising imports, Brazil is an important market for the exporters looking for alternative foreign markets.
Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group promoted particularly flour, yeast, starch and other export products included in its field of activity, as well as Turkey’s potential in the exhibition in which it participated for the first time. The exhibition was attended by Mr. Turgay ÜNLÜ, Chairman of Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group, and Mr. Avşin KAŞIKÇI, Member of Wheat Flour Working Group, and our info stand was visited by Mr. Mehmet Özgün ARMAN, Consul-General in Sao Paulo, and Ms. Canan GÜRHAN, Commercial Counsellor, as well.
Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group furnished visitors with cookbooks in Portuguese and English, containing recipes of sweet and salty bakery products and catalogues introducing the sector, and various baked products were offered to the visitors throughout the exhibition. In addition, kitchen aprons and briefcases carrying the name and logo of the Promotion Group were distributed.
