Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group at “Anuga 2015” Fair

Over 7,000 firms from 108 countries participated in ANUGA 2015 fair held for 33rd time at Koelnmesse fair area in Cologne city of Germany between 10-14 October 2015.

Turkey’s national participation organization was realized with participation of a total of 230 firms operating in various areas of food sector by the Chamber of Commerce for Istanbul. In addition, 50 firms from Turkey attended the fair individually. Thus, Turkey had the 5th largest representation at the fair after Germany, Italy, Spain and China.

Being the world’s most important food fair, ANUGA was visited by a total of 160,000 visitors from 192 countries. 68% of the visitors were from outside Germany. A total of 14 wheat flour exporters from Turkey took part in ANUGA fair, with 2 of them participating individually.

Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group (UTG) participated in the exhibition with an info stand for the first time, promoting particularly flour, yeast, starch and other export products included in its field of activity, as well as Turkey’s export potential for the said products. UTG Chairman Mr. Turgay ÜNLÜ, UTG Vice Chairman Mr. Nurettin DEMİRPOLAT, UTG Directors Mr. Adnan HEKİMOĞLU and Mr. İbrahim GÜZEL attended the fair, where our info stand was visited by Turkish Consul General to Cologne Mr. Hüseyin Emre ENGİN as well.

At our info stand, Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group furnished visitors with cookbooks in English, containing recipes of sweet and salty bakery products and catalogues introducing the sector. Furthermore, various baked products prepared at UTG stand were offered to the visitors during the fair. In addition, kitchen aprons, bags and baker’s sets carrying the name and logo of the Promotion Group were distributed. The shows performed by the sand animation artist Mr. Veysel Çelikdemir using flour and sand attracted great attention from the visitors.
