Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group at Gastro İstanbul Exhibition

Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group (UTG) participated with an info stand in Gastro İstanbul Exhibition held between 9-12 May 2013 at Küçük Çiftlik Park/İstanbul, hosted by TURYID (Turkey’s Association of Tourism and Catering Operators), supported by TMD (Turkish Culinary Association), under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, which is likely to become one of the major gastronomy festivals of Turkey from the standpoint of both content and attendance.

Bringing together Turkey’s leading food and beverage enterprises, brands and producers with local and foreign participants under many topics in a festival-like environment, Gastro İstanbul aims to create a sharing platform providing exchange of knowledge and creating awareness, with the professionals, academicians and opinion leaders tackling important and current highlights of Turkish cuisine and food-drink assets of Turkey.

At UTG info stand, the products covered by UTG were introduced to local and foreign visitors, and bakery products prepared with Turkish flour, such as “kek” (cake), “börek” (patty stuffed with cheese or mincemeat), “kurabiye” (cookie), “pasta” (pastry) etc. were offered to them together with information on the exports and potential of the sector. The stand was opened by Mr. Mustafa Sarıgül, Mayor of Şişli.
