Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group at WOFEX 2014 Expo

Turkey, which is the world’s top exporter of flour, attracted great interest from visitors at “WOFEX Expo” in which she participated for the third time this year.

The fair organized for the 12th time this year between 06-09 August 2014 in Manila city of the Philippines saw participation of many firms operating in food sector from such countries as Turkey, USA, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Indonesia, China, South Korea and the Philippines.

The fair was attended for the fifth time under the national participation organization realized by the Central Anatolian Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Union with 13 firms. Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group (UTG) also participated in the fair where an effective promotional activity was carried out. At UTG stand, which was visited by Turkey’s Ambassador to Manila Ms. Esra CANKOURUR on the opening day of the exhibition, bakery products prepared by Chef İlhami KILIÇ were offered to the visitors throughout the exhibition. Moreover, a demo related with preparation of “mantı” (puff stuffed with mincemeat, served with yogurt) was realized by Chef İlhami KILIÇ on 8 August 2014 at WOFEX show area. During the show drawing attention of the visitors, “mantı” prepared on stage to the accompaniment of the onlookers as well was offered to the audience, gaining their great appreciation.

The Chairman and members of the Filipino-Chinese Bakery Association Inc. (FCBAI) visited UTG stand on 7 August 2014, conducting negotiations about the joint activities planned to be executed.

At UTG stand, the visitors were furnished with catalogues containing information on the Promotion Group and the products covered by the Promotion Group, as well as with kitchen aprons and bags carrying the name and logo of the Promotion Group. An UTG promotional film was run at UTG stand throughout the exhibition.
