A delegation of media members consisting of four journalists and a representative of CID, a PR firm retained by Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group (UTG) in the Philippines, visited Turkey between 26-31 August 2014 within the framework of the assessment that it would be useful to organize a second visit covering Cappadocia and Ephesus/İzmir for the press members who had paid a visit, covering Istanbul and Göbeklitepe/Urfa, to Turkey between 05 -10 July 2014 as UTG’s invitees, with a view to making a contribution towards the continuation of positive coverage of Turkey by the Filipino press. During the organization covering Cappadocia and Ephesus/İzmir, the delegates met with UTG Chairman Mr. Turgay ÜNLÜ on the first day of their visit. In the aftermath of the organization, the journalists issued reports containing generally positive assessments about Turkey. Furthermore, the reports/articles prepared by the journalists emphasized the importance for the Philippines of Turkey’s wheat flour exports to the said country, and covered Turkey’s arguments against the pending anti-dumping investigation.
