A delegation visit to Sao Paulo of Brazil took place between 17-19 September 2013 with the participation of 8 Turkish flour exporter firms under the organization of Turkish Flour Yeast and Ingredients Promotion Group (TFYI) holding meetings attended by the officials of the Brazilian Association of Pasta and Bread Industries (ABIMA) and the Brazilian Association of the Biscuit Industry (ANIB) and Brazilian firms.
On 18 September 2013, a meeting was held with ABIMA/ANIB with the participation of the UTG Members Mr. Yaşar SERPİ, Mr. Nurettin DEMİRPOLAT, and the Wheat Flour Working Committee Member Mr. Avşin KAŞIKÇI from the Turkish side, and ABIMA President Mr. Claudio ZANÃO and ANIB President Mr. Alexandre COLOMBO and officials of the Associations from the Brazilian side. The meeting saw a presentation introducing the Turkish flour industry and UTG. ABIMA President gave information about the flour and wheat sector in Brazil, noting that, due to the decline in production in Argentina which is the biggest supplier country, the imports from the said country receded, the prices increased, and the imports were made to a large extent from the USA.
On 19 September 2013, bilateral business negotiations were held with the participation of the representatives of the Turkish firms and the representatives of 6 Brazilian firms. The delegation was accompanied by the Commercial Counsellors Ms. Canan GÜRHAN and Mr. Ramazan KISA as well.
